Xandria (Iteration 4-03)

Continuing the reforging of my sculpture, Xandria, I have focused on reworking the legs, which in their original incarnation [link] were crude and almost laughable compared to the graceful lines of the upper torso. In all my previous sculptures with legs (Laurel[link], Karneia [link]) I sculpted the legs together with no gap between them. This made it much easier to sculpt from a single sheet of steel. But with Xandria, I decided to take a little risk. I made a small surgical slice in the steel so that I could resculpt the legs and achieve a more beautiful posture for the sculpture.

As with all my pieces, the sculpture was cold forged from 22 gauge steel on an anvil with hammers.
